Being able to do our best at work while also scheduling specific time for our personal lives is the key to happiness for many adults. Here are a few tips to learn how to balance work and personal life.

Stick to a Schedule

Schedule time for family as carefully as you schedule our workday. Treat them with importance; they need you to be around. by keeping a calendar that gives time to work and being at home, you can eliminate stress over balancing both. It will also allow you to keep track of the promises you make and if you keep them.

Work On Yourself

Taking care of yourself is necessary if you want to stay energized to do everything on your schedule. Make sure to eat healthy throughout the day to make you strong. Exercising regularly will give you more energy to get things done. A consistent sleep schedule will only add more productivity to any day of the week. If you can get through the workday without a problem, relaxation time will be waiting for you.

Learn How to Say No

It’s easy to say yes to a request from your boss or co-worker; it can become a habit. By learning to say no to some requests that interfere with your persona life, it will save you time and energy. You can always respectfully decline offers to do extra work. It’s all about learning to stop doing things out of guilt.

Set Distraction Boundaries

If you feel distractions are keeping you from saving time for your personal life, set boundaries. Turn off your cell phone or laptop when you shouldn’t be using it. Don’t look at your work email when you are with your family. Your job expects you to work hard, but they don’t expect you to be married to your job.

Ask for Support

Let people know that you are seeking a better work-life. People will be happy to help if you have a set plan for reaching your goal. Your family, friends, or even your boss can be a great source of encouragement, and you could even set an example for them to follow.

Being able to balance your work and personal life will make you optimized to handle both at their own time. A perfect balance is not easy to perfect, but striving to be able to be happy in both ways is a great goal. Those who learn to balance these two perfectly can create a stress-free life.

Three of the Most Memorable Super Bowl Ads Ever

For those who aren’t into football, there are a few other reasons to watch the Super Bowl. Some tune in for the halftime show, which looks great with Bruno Mars and the Red Hot chili Peppers. Others however, tune in to watch the commercials. Companies save their best stuff for the Super Bowl, and the money they pay to do it shows. Here are a few Super Bowl ads that ended up being memorable years after they aired.

Mean Joe Green – 1979

“Mean” Joe Green had a reputation as a deadly force on the football field. He carried the perfect combination of toughness and vulnerability, and didn’t look like the typical choice for a soda advertisement. His reputation was perfect for the ad: a kid offering him a coke, with Greene accepting, and in turn offering his jersey to the kid. People who saw the advertisement witnessed Greene become show a softer side, and seem more relatable. Green later claimed that the ad transformed his public perception for the better. Troy Polamalu, current safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, remade the ad in 2009.

Bud Light Frogs – 1995

Taking a risk on talking frogs gave Budweiser some much-needed attention. The commercial was simple: three frogs in a swamp each saying a syllable in Budweiser, while looking at a light-up Budweiser sign. The advertisement was catchy and funny, and was acclaimed by millions of viewers. The frogs first appeared in 1995, and ended up appearing in a total of six more commercials. The frogs gained some controversy when a study showed that kids grouped the frogs with other children’s brand mascots, including Ronald McDonald and Tony the Tiger.  Brand Director Mike Brooks took a shot with the frogs, even staking his job on it with his boss August Busch IV. Overall, the experiment turned into a success.

Darth Vader Kid – 2011

Volkswagen hit it out of the park with their advertisement for the 2012 Passat, involving a kid dressed as Darth Vader. Not only did the kid’s cuteness win viewers, but it also had a nostalgia factor for the target audience of new families. People that grew up with Star Wars found it relatable, and others loved the kid’s involvement. The moral of the ad centers on something that all viewers could relate to, a child’s desire to live a fantasy. The ad is currently the most shared advertisement of all time.

Staying Dedicated to Long-Term Goals

Hi, I’m Sam Striker and I’m here to discuss how to accomplish long-term goals. When we come up with professional or personal goals that we think we can achieve, we feel ecstatic. It’s exciting to start on them right away, and work toward reaching the endpoint. After a while however, we sometimes lose motivation and give up. If it’s a long-term goal, we especially find the wait difficult. Staying true to goals may be hard, but by staying motivated, we can finally reach the things we’ve always wanted.

Visualize achieving this goal if you are ever doubtful. You know how amazing it will feel to have accomplished this goal and reaching the finish line. People tend to lose track of their goals by telling themselves they’ll never be able to do it. This train of thought is not healthy. Instead, picture what it’s going to be like when you get there. It will give you some motivation.

Remembering the exact reason why you set this goal is imperative. We tend to forget why we make some hard-to-accomplish ambitions, but realizing that we do it for a specific reason will help. Maybe it was to get you motivated to work harder. Or maybe it was just to say that you could accomplish it. Just remember that you set out for this goal for a reason, and you should stick to it.

Long-term goals are easy to struggle with due to the amount of time it takes to accomplish. But this should not be an excuse to quit. Although it may take a while, the time it will take is still going to pass no matter what. Why not reach the end of it with something positive to show?

Taking a look at the evidence of the progress you made so far can be very beneficial. Maybe it’s a higher number of clients, or a sales quota you want to reach. See how far you have come and use that to motivate yourself. Remember how far you have come compared to how you we have to go. This in turn creates a solid sense of accomplishment.

Turning to other people for support can help too. This could be anyone from your friends, to your boss, or even a meet-up group. Spend time with people who understand the challenges you are about to undertake, and are willing to support you. You’ll also discover other methods people use to stick to their goals.

Keeping a memo on your phone or a planner that reminds you daily can keep you motivated as well. Being reminded about your goals will keep you on track and stop you from trying to get off the hook. Staying motivated and dedicated will bring you more success than you ever expected.

What Coaching Soccer Teaches You About Being A Leader

Samuel Striker here again to talk about my experience as a coach in soccer and also sales. I didn’t expect it, but coaching a couple of soccer teams has had substantial influence within my career of being sales leader. Coaching young people taught me many different things about being a leader. It allowed me to bring the best out of our team through a deep connection, and I’ve been able to apply that to my sales team as well.

When I first started coaching, I didn’t think I would cut it.  A few experiences made me more comfortable, and all of a sudden I started loving it. It’s not easy being a leader for a team. People look to you for everything and expect you to have a solution. Two of the most important things I learned were patience and trust. Being patient allows your team some breathing room to develop without you being on their backs. Trust is key as well. Having faith in your sales team can improve morale and build their confidence.

I’ve noticed that getting to know my team well has helped them develop strongly. I’m not just talking about on the practice field or at work. Getting to know everything from their families to what their favorite kind of ice cream is allows us to build a strong relationship that to apply to work. A manager should know and enrich their team’s lives, not just at work or at the game.

I’ve also noticed that a sense of belonging helps strengthen a team. The first soccer team I coached had difficulty getting along. They couldn’t see us becoming a family that could trust each other and know that we had each other’s back. As we started to practice more however, things started coming into place. The same goes for our sales team. Promoting a culture of belonging and pride can help motivate a squad to want everyone to succeed.

Knowing the talent levels of my team and where they strive the best helped considerably. There are always those that succeed and start to level off. If someone is better on the phone, and another is better at face-to-face meetings, I make sure to put them in situations they are comfortable it. It’s important to stress that even great talent needs to work hard to prosper.

Turn Failure In Sales Into Success

This is Samuel Striker, manager at KMG Consultants Inc. The feeling of failure is unpleasant to say the least. Success in everything sounds satisfying, but realistically, everything can’t go that way. We all run into times when we are prevented from succeeding and we will have to accept getting disappointed from time to time. Learning from this is how we turn failure into success.

A big mistake people in sales always make is believing that failure is final. This is never true; failure is only temporary, and when looking through this type of lens, things can be seen differently. There will always be situations when the fear of failing can control a person’s mind. By eliminating this point of view, better opportunities can be available to thrive.

Failure in sales can be treated the same way as failure in anything else. Sometimes you won’t find that dream customer, or you do not believe in the product as much as you should. Realize that this negativity comes with working in sales, and with every failure comes an eventual success.

It doesn’t hurt to prepare for mistakes. Accept the inevitability of failure. There will always be errors and sometimes it’s out of control. Understand that a level of realism needs to be accepted to cope with failure. It can create balance in your life and let you grow stronger.

Don’t let the fear of failing get to you. Recognize that this negativity will come and go. The reality is that recovery with added knowledge and insight will eventually come. There are countless people who have failed but have learned from it and came back stronger than ever. Learn how they did it instead of just focusing on your personal problems. Failure will also make you more humble. It’s going to knock you off your pedestal and help you find the right course.

Finally, review what failure has taught you. Learning from letdowns is a process and a skill that can be honed. Failure in our time today isn’t valued like it should; it can help mature a person, as well as help them develop persistence, self-discipline, and hard work. Most of all, it will aid in finding what your best self truly is.

If there’s anything to take away from this post, it’s that getting caught up with failure will only lead to more failure. Take advantage of this and become the success you’ve always pictured.
